Honda Launches Adventure Tourer NX500 in India at Rs 5.90 Lakh

In a strategic move to cater to the adventure touring segment in India, Honda has officially introduced the NX500 with an introductory price tag of Rs 5.90 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The much-anticipated model is set to compete in the premium adventure bike space, offering riders a combination of power, performance, and advanced features.

NX500: Power and Performance

The heart of the Honda NX500 is a robust liquid-cooled, 471cc parallel-twin engine, delivering an impressive 47.5hp and 43Nm of torque. Mated to a 6-speed gearbox equipped with a slip and assist clutch, this adventure tourer promises a thrilling riding experience. The powertrain is designed to provide a perfect balance of efficiency and excitement, making it suitable for a variety of riding conditions.

Advanced Suspension and Handling

Equipped with a diamond frame and boasting a USD fork and preload-adjustable monoshock, both provided by Showa, the NX500 ensures a stable and controlled ride. With a fully brimmed 17.5-litre fuel tank, the bike weighs 196 kg, offering a nimble and agile performance. Nissin handles the braking duties with axial calipers on twin 296mm front discs and a single 240mm disc at the rear, accompanied by standard dual-channel ABS.

Tech-Savvy Features and Connectivity

One notable upgrade from its predecessor, the CB500X, is the inclusion of a 5-inch TFT dash on the NX500. The interactive display allows riders to pair their smartphones for navigation data and notification updates. The bike is available in three striking colours – white, black, and red – enhancing both style and visibility. Additionally, the NX500 features a switchable traction control system for enhanced safety and control.

Market Positioning and Booking Details

With an introductory price of Rs 5.90 lakh, the Honda NX500 positions itself as a formidable contender in the premium adventure touring segment. It competes closely with the likes of the Kawasaki Versys 650, signaling Honda’s intent to capture a niche market. Bookings for the NX500 are now open at all Honda BigWing dealers, and eager riders can anticipate deliveries starting from February 2024.
