Exclusive Unveiling: Heritage Customs Introduces Limited Edition Land Rover Defender Convertible

In a groundbreaking move, Dutch coachbuilder Heritage Customs has commenced the production of a limited edition Land Rover Defender convertible, with plans to create just five of these extraordinary vehicles. The Valiance Convertible, based on the latest L663-generation Defender 90, is set to redefine luxury and exclusivity in the world of off-road vehicles.

The second Valiance Convertible is already in production at Heritage Customs’ Enter factory in the Netherlands, highlighting the demand for this unique open-top variant of the iconic Land Rover Defender.

Key modifications include the addition of a sixth seat, special forged wheels, custom leather trim, sports seats, and various enhancements to both the interior and exterior. Painted in the eye-catching Sunbeam Yellow color, the Valiance Defender features contrasting black elements, including a roll cage, front bonnet plates, and side air vents. The convertible’s fabric top is a masterpiece of craftsmanship and can be operated electronically for convenience.

Inside the Valiance Defender, passengers will experience black quilted upholstery, aluminum paneling, and a strategically placed extra passenger seat in the center of the front row. The interior design is further accentuated with yellow stitching, creating a harmonious connection with the vibrant exterior paintwork.

Autocar UK reports the cost of this exclusive customization to be GBP 58,000 (over Rs 59 lakh). It’s important to note that this amount covers the bespoke modifications to the vehicle but does not include any changes to the powertrain, which will remain in factory specification as per the customer’s choice.

Co-owner Niels van Roij emphasizes that the Valiance Convertible pays homage to the Defender’s iconic soft-top style and rich history. This latest project adds to van Roij’s portfolio of unique creations, including a Rolls-Royce Wraith-based shooting brake and a Tesla Model S transformed into an estate.

As enthusiasts eagerly await the release of the Valiance Convertible, Heritage Customs tantalizes them with a glimpse into the future. The coachbuilder hints at another drop-top conversion in progress, teasing a “next iteration of the Heritage Customs Valiance Convertible” that promises to captivate automotive aficionados.
