Fastag KYC Deadline Alert: Ensure Smooth Highways by Updating Your KYC Before January 31

In a critical update for highway users, the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) has issued a deadline for the completion of Know Your Customer (KYC) for all FASTag users. Failure to update KYC details by January 31 may result in the deactivation or blacklisting of FASTags by banks, regardless of the balance. The move aims to eliminate the issuance of multiple FASTags for a single vehicle, unauthorized distribution without KYC verification, and intentional non-fixing of FASTags on vehicle windscreens.

How to Update FASTag KYC:

  1. Visit the bank-linked FASTag website. Log in using your registered mobile number and enter the OTP received.
  2. Navigate to the “My Profile” section and click on the KYC tab. Fill in the necessary details, including address proof, and click the submit button.
  3. Your KYC will be completed, and the KYC page will display your updated status.

Checking FASTag Status:

  1. Visit fastag.ihmcl.com. Click on the Login tab and log in using your registered mobile number for OTP.
  2. In the “My Profile” section of the dashboard, check the KYC status and profile details submitted during registration.

Users can also perform these actions on their bank’s website.

Documents Required for FASTag KYC:

  1. Vehicle Registration Certificate
  2. Identity proof
  3. Address proof
  4. Passport-size photo

Acceptable IDs for proof include Passport, Voter ID card, Aadhar card, driving license, or PAN card.

FASTag, an electronic toll collection system, streamlines toll tax payments at toll plazas and monitors vehicles on highways. Utilizing RFID technology, a tag attached to the vehicle’s windscreen is linked to a bank account or prepaid card. When a FASTag-equipped vehicle approaches a toll plaza, the scanner recognizes the tag and deducts the toll amount from the linked account or card.
