Renowned cricketer Rohit Sharma found himself in the fast lane, quite literally, as he recently paid fines for speeding on the Pune-Mumbai Expressway. Reports from the Highway Police confirm that two separate challans were issued to Rohit Sharma for exceeding the speed limit in his Lamborghini while en route to Pune from Mumbai. The cricketer was racing against time to reach the Maharashtra Cricket Association (MCA) stadium at Gahunje for an upcoming cricket match between India and Bangladesh.
A Need for Speed
According to official sources, Rohit’s luxury car was flagged for violations of the speed limit by an automated system installed on the expressway. The permissible speed on this route is set at 105 kmph, with certain sections featuring even lower limits. Rohit Sharma’s speedy journey cost him two challans, each amounting to Rs 2,000, triggered by CCTV cameras that diligently capture traffic rule infractions.
Highway Hotspots
Rohit Sharma’s need for speed was notably recorded near the Kamshet Tunnel and the Sonatane Phata areas along the expressway. On both occasions, he was clocked at speeds exceeding 110 kmph.
