Pune, Jul 23 (UNI) In the wake of the Irshalwadi tragedy, the district administration should visit all the crack-prone villages in the district to assess the situation there and to keep the Disaster Management System ready for immediate response to any calamity during the rainy season, Maharashtra and District Guardian Minister Chandrakantdada Patil told officials on Sunday.
He gave this direction to district collector Dr Rajesh Deshmukh and other officials while reviewing the preparedness of District Disaster Management System here.
The minister inquired about the rainfall situation, water status in the dam, crack prone and flood prone villages in the district.
He said that roads should be closed for traffic in areas prone to landslides during rains as well as necessary restrictions should be put in place to ensure that there is no accident at tourist spots, he suggested.
Also, citizens should be informed about precautions to be taken during disaster, he added.
