Mumbai, The trailer for the highly anticipated crime drama thriller film ‘Apurva’ has been unveiled, showcasing a dark and gripping narrative. Fusing elements of neo-noir and dacoit drama with a touch of Bollywood flair, this cinematic experience stars Tara Sutaria in the role of a resilient survivor.
Opening in a desert landscape reminiscent of gritty crime dramas like ‘Breaking Bad’ and the Bollywood thriller ‘NH10,’ the ‘Apurva’ trailer takes viewers on a rollercoaster ride.
The story begins with ruthless robbers on a shooting spree, setting the tone for an intense narrative. It then takes a Bollywood twist as Tara Sutaria’s character prepares for her wedding, adding a touch of romance.
In a bid to surprise her fiancé on his birthday, Apurva embarks on a journey to Agra. However, she becomes the target of a dacoit gang who hijack her bus, leading to a perilous situation.
In a surprising departure from his comedic roles, veteran actor Rajpal Yadav portrays a menacing gangster who orders Apurva to be left in the desert after their sinister plan. But Apurva manages to escape, beginning a desperate cat-and-mouse game.
As the tension escalates, Abhishek Banerjee enters the scene as an even more sinister gangster who makes it clear that Apurva is his top priority.
The trailer promises intense and electrifying performances from the cast, with Tara Sutaria’s character undergoing a dramatic transformation that draws on her inner strength to survive.
Speaking about her role, Tara Sutaria expressed her excitement, saying, “I am overwhelmed by the immense love and appreciation that our first look has received. ‘Apurva’ has been the most challenging and rewarding experience for me with regard to performance, and it is also starkly different from any role I’ve played before. The fierceness and power of this character is what drew me in from the beginning. This is the role I’ve longed for since I began my career.”
Rajpal Yadav also discussed his role, emphasizing the importance of innovation, stating, “It is always important to keep trying to innovate and do something different no matter what stage of life you may be in. ‘Apurva’ was just the right story for me.”
Abhishek Banerjee, who plays a menacing character in the film, added, “This is one of the most fearsome characters I’ve played so far, and to bring the necessary level of evil and menace in each scene was quite challenging.”
Written and directed by Nikhil Nagesh Bhat, ‘Apurva’ features a unique ensemble cast, including Tara Sutaria, Abhishek Banerjee, Dhairya Karwa, and Rajpal Yadav. The film is set to premiere on Disney+ Hotstar on November 15, 2023.
