Short Film Extravaganza: A Fusion of Cultures at Pune’s ‘International Shorts Collective

The event will take place at The Base in Erandwane on Friday, 11th, and Saturday, 12th August 2023, from 5 pm to 9 pm.

This cinematic extravaganza is a collaboration between esteemed institutions such as Goethe-Institut / Max Mueller Bhavan Pune, Alliance Française de Pune, Consulate General of Switzerland in Mumbai, Pune Film Foundation, and the Arbhaat Film Club. The German contribution to the festival comes in the form of a series of films carefully selected from the Short Export 2023 Package. Chosen from a pool of over 470 entries registered for the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival, these six German short films offer a glimpse into the artistic, aesthetic, and thematic richness of contemporary German cinema.

In addition to the German films, the collective also features meticulously curated selections from France, Switzerland, and India. These films are the result of entries submitted for prominent film festivals such as the Locarno Film Festival and the National Film Awards of India, showcasing the wealth of talent and artistic storytelling from these regions.
