Mumbai, 29th July 2023: The much-awaited film “Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani,” featuring the dynamic duo of Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt, finally graced the silver screen on Friday, July 28, and has received an overwhelming response from both critics and audiences alike. According to early estimates by industry tracker Sacnilk, the Karan Johar directorial raked in an impressive Rs 11.50 crore on its opening day.
During the morning shows, the film kickstarted with a 12% occupancy in the Hindi market, but as the day progressed, the audience occupancy soared to 20.18% for the evening shows and peaked at an impressive 36.85% for the night shows.
With its outstanding opening day collection, Karan Johar’s film has now secured its position as the fifth-highest Hindi film opener of the year. However, the top spot is still held by Shah Rukh Khan’s “Pathaan,” which set the box office ablaze with a staggering Rs 57 crore on its opening day. Following “Pathaan” on the list are “Adipurush,” “Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan,” and “Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar,” which garnered Rs 36 crore, Rs 15.81 crore, and Rs 15.73 crore, respectively, on their respective opening days.
To celebrate the film’s resounding success, Karan Johar hosted a star-studded success bash at his luxurious Mumbai residence on Friday night. The event witnessed the presence of illustrious personalities such as Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor, Manish Malhotra, and many other prominent figures from the industry.
“Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani” boasts an ensemble cast led by the charismatic duo of Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt, complemented by the stellar performances of veteran actors Dharmendra, Shabana Azmi, and Jaya Bachchan in pivotal roles.
