Pune’s Surendra Pathare Foundation Smashes Records with 3671 Blood Bags Collected at Annual Camp

Kharadi, 27th January 2024: The Rajaram Bhiku Pathare Stadium in Kharadi witnessed a historic moment as the Surendra Pathare Foundation’s annual blood donation camp set a new record by collecting 3671 blood bags on January 26th. Former MLA Bapusaheb Pathare inaugurated the event, showcasing the community’s commitment to addressing the persistent blood shortage in the state.

This annual Blood Donation Camp, a tradition since 2021, coincides with Republic Day and has become a crucial initiative to tackle the ongoing blood shortage. With a total of 8690 blood bags collected over the past three years, the Foundation not only focuses on blood collection but also actively raises public awareness about the importance of blood donation.

Surendra Pathare, president of Surendra Pathare Foundation, expressed satisfaction with the unprecedented success of the camp. He conveyed gratitude to all blood donors and everyone involved in organizing the event, stating, “We are happy that this camp is being conducted due to the phenomenal response from blood donors. The blood transfusion record of the previous three years was broken this time.”

The event saw the participation of various blood banks, including Akshay Blood Bank, Sassoon General Hospital Blood Bank, and Red Plus Blood Bank. Notable figures like Kasba Constituency MLA Ravindra Dhangekar, Shirur Constituency MLA Ashok Pawar, BJP Pune Ex-City President and Ex-MLA Jagdish Mulik, BJP Maharashtra State General Secretary and Ex-Mayor Muralidhar Mohol, and Chandan Nagar Police Inspector Manisha Patil graced the occasion.

Surendra Pathare assured the community that the Blood Donation Camp would continue to be an annual event on Republic Day, expressing gratitude to all citizens who generously contributed to this noble cause.
