Pune, August 24, 2023: The ambitious Ring Road Project in Pune has achieved a significant milestone as the land acquisition process gains momentum. Recent reports indicate that a substantial number of farmers have expressed their willingness to contribute their land to the project. As of now, a total of 12,166 farmers have provided their consent to allocate their land for the proposed Ring Road.

In a notable move, authorities have already disbursed a sum of Rs 491 Crore as compensation for the acquired land to these farmers. Furthermore, the district administration is planning to release an additional Rs 1,000 crore in compensation for the acquired land by the end of this month. This financial commitment demonstrates the administration’s dedication to facilitating the acquisition process and ensuring equitable compensation for the affected farmers.

The timeline for receiving consent letters from landowners in the western section of the Ring Road was set until August 21st. This encompassed a total of 2,455 plots of land situated across 35 villages in Maval, Mulshi, Haveli, and Bhor talukas. In these regions, a cumulative expanse of approximately 738.64 hectares of land is owned by 16,940 farmers. Of this, around 12,166 farmers have already provided their consent to contribute 4,997.42 hectares of land for the project within the past 21 days.

With this remarkable progress, the district administration now aims to acquire the remaining 24,690.31 hectares of land required for the Ring Road Project. Notably, the highest compensation amount has been allocated to farmers in the Maval taluka, with approximately Rs 218.61 Lakh disbursed out of the total Rs 491 Crore granted to farmers for their participation in this significant infrastructure venture.

The Ring Road Project is expected to bring about transformative changes to Pune’s connectivity and infrastructure, and the proactive efforts in land acquisition underscore the commitment of all stakeholders towards its successful realization.
