Pune: Theft at Shiv Mandir in National Defence Academy area, three held

Pune: Three persons have been arrested for a theft at the Shiv Mandir in the National Defence Academy (NDA), Khadakwasla, Military Camp area.

The incident occurred on Wednesday (June 26) evening. They stole a copper vessel and a brass image of a cobra. Bhaskar Dineshchand Suyal (27), a resident of Uttam Nagar, lodged a complaint on Thursday (June 27) at the Uttam Nagar Police Station.

The arrested accused have been identified as Pradip Rameshwar Magar (19), a resident of Nanded Phata, Rahulkumar Devidin Yadav (27), a resident of Dhayari, and Swapnil Maruti Chavan, a resident of Nanded Gaon. A case has been registered against them under sections 379, 34 of the IPC.

According to the police, the Shiv Mandir is located at the Military Camp in the NDA, Khadakwasla area. The accused entered the temple on Wednesday (June 26) evening and stole the copper vessel and the brass image of a cobra valued at Rs 2,500.

The complainant realised the theft after visiting the temple the next day. He immediately approached the Uttam Nagar Police and lodged the complaint. The police cracked the case and arrested the accused. They are investigating further.
