Pune: Pune-based drug smuggler supplied narcotics in pub party on FC Road

Pune: Investigation has revealed that a drug smuggler from Pune supplied narcotics to youths in the drug party at L3 bar on Fergusson College Road. The police are searching for the smuggler.

The police have added a section under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDAPS) Act, 1985, to the case, said DCP (Zone 1) Sandeep Singh Gill.

A video clip of the party went viral, following which the owner and other seven people were arrested. The two youths seen in the clip consuming drugs, Nitin Thombre and Karan Mishra, were also held. As many as 10 people have been apprehended till date. Thombre and Mishra told the police that they purchased drugs in Pune. The police are searching for the drug smuggler, said DCP Gill.

The police have traced the nine youths, who participated in the party, and have recorded their statements. The Crime Branch has also launched a parallel probe into the incident.

Advertisements of late night parties on social media

The police have instructed pub, bar owners to close their establishments after 12.30 am. Some of them still held ‘late night’ parties. Such parties are advertised on social media. A party was held at Cult pub late on Saturday (June 22), where pub owner Kamthe announced the late night party at L3 pub on the loudspeaker. A ‘Pune Vibes’ group was formed on social media of those attending the L3 party. Money was paid online and in cash for the party.
