Pune: Passengers can now complain against auto men, cab drivers and private bus operators on RTO mobile app

Pune: Complaints against auto-rickshaw, cab and private bus drivers such as refusing to ply or not plying by the meter will be addressed quickly. The Regional Transport Office (RTO) has taken an important step as such complaints have been growing.

Aggrieved passengers can now post their complaints on a WhatsApp number, which will be addressed immediately. The helpline number is 8275330101.

Citizens often complain that auto men refuse to ply, particularly for short distances, or they demand more than the meter reading. Many refuse to ply by meter and demand highly inflated fares. Similar complaints are being made about cab drivers and private bus operators. Such grievances have been growing. However, passengers are not aware how they can lodge their complaints. They do not want to waste time visiting the RTO to file a complaint.

The RTO has launched the WhatsApp helpline number 8275330101 so that passengers can easily lodge their grievances. After a complaint is filed against a cab or auto-rickshaw driver, the officials at the RTO will verify it and will act immediately if the driver concerned is found guilty.

RTO Archana Gaikwad said, “We have launched the WhatsApp helpline for passengers, who have been facing issues with auto-rickshaws and cabs. They often complain that cab or auto-rickshaw drivers refuse to ply or demand inflated fares. Such complaints will be addressed immediately.”
