Pune: The State Government has finally suspended Khed Sub Divisional Officer (SDO) Jogendra Katyare for official indiscipline by writing a letter to the Chief Election Officer against District Magistrate Dr Suhas Diwase and for maligning the image of the State Government.
A divisional inquiry will be conducted against him during the suspension period and his headquarters will be the District Collectorate. The order stated that he would not be able to leave the headquarters without the permission of the District Collector, against whom he wrote the letter to the Election Commission of India and the Chief Election Officer.
Declaring his action illegal, the State Government had issued a show-cause notice to Katyare for not following the official process while complaining against his senior officer. The notice had to be replied to within seven days. Therefore, he has been suspended. Additional Secretary Sanjeev Rane has issued the order in the name of the Governor.
Katyare has been charged with making baseless allegations by writing a letter to the Chief Election Officer and mistaking between the administrative work and the Election Code of Conduct. Moreover, he maligned the image of the State Government.
Therefore, a divisional inquiry will be conducted against him and he will be suspended during this period from his official duty under Rule 8 of the Maharashtra Civil Services (Discipline and Appeals) Rules, 1979. He will not be able to join any private service during this period.
Katyare had demanded Dr Diwase’s transfer due to the latter’s political relations. Katyare had alleged that Dr Diwase was mentally torturing him. Taking a serious note of the matter, the State Government asked Divisional Commissioner Dr Chandrakant Pulkundwar to send an inquiry report, on the basis of which the show-cause notice was sent to him.
