Pune: A heated exchange has unfolded between Dhirendra Shastri of Bageshwar Dham and a member of the Andhashraddha Nirmoolan Samiti (ANIS), Milind Deshmukh. The challenge, issued by Deshmukh, involves a closed wallet containing an undisclosed number of notes. The ANIS member boldly asserts that if Dhirendra Shastri successfully identifies the note count, ANIS will reward him with a substantial sum of 21 lakhs, accompanied by a commitment to permanently disband the Andhashraddha Nirmoolan Samiti.
The confrontation comes in the wake of a recent satsang and divine court programme held by Dhirendra Shastri in Pune, drawing a massive audience of local residents, leaders, and high-ranking officials. The event faced opposition from ANIS and other organisations, leading to a war of words between the spiritual leader and the Samiti.
In response to ANIS’s challenge, Shastri Maharaj held a press conference, inviting the members of ANIS to witness the truth in a court setting. “ANIS should come to the court and see for themselves,” declared Shastri Maharaj confidently.
Milind Deshmukh, representing ANIS, insists that Shastri Maharaj should take the first step forward. Deshmukh stated, “We will not come to the court. Clarification will be required in front of everyone. We will give him a test and see if they pass.” The specific challenge outlined by ANIS involves the identification of notes within a closed envelope, a task that, if accomplished, promises both a 21 lakh rupee reward and the closure of the organisation.
Dhirendra Shastri Maharaj, however, appears sceptical about accepting the open challenge, expressing doubt that such challenges can only be effectively addressed in a courtroom setting. He remains steadfast in his position that ANIS should witness the truth in court.
