Pune: 62-year-old man arrested for threatening 19-year-old man of cutting him with Koyta

Pune: A 65-year-old man from Moi in Khed taluka was arrested by Mahalunge MIDC police station for threatening another man to cut him into pieces with Koyta on Monday, August 7 at around 3pm, informed senior police inspector of Mahalunge MIDC police station Vasant Babar.

The complainant Prasad Navnath Gawari (19) a resident of Moi in Khed taluka lodged a complaint against the accused Vithoba Nirvitti Gawari (62) at Mahalunge MIDC police station. The accused has been charged with possession of illegal weapons and other sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

According to the police officials the victim Prasad was going to Dattanagar from Moi village on his two-wheeler on Monday, August 7 at around 3 pm and at that time the accused Vithoba Gawari stopped the complainant and abused him. He told the victim that don’t go from this road or I will cut you with the Koyta. The accused along with the complainant also abused and threatened his cousins Kundlik Gawari and Mahesh Yelwande for no reason.

The police have registered the case and arrested the accused and are further investigating the case.”
