Maharashtra Surpasses Expectations with Historic ₹3.53 Lakh Crore MoU Signing in Davos

Davos, Switzerland: In a momentous achievement, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde declared today that Maharashtra has inked MoUs totaling ₹3,10,850 crores during the ongoing World Economic Conference in Davos, Switzerland, with an additional ₹42,825 crores slated for tomorrow. This groundbreaking accomplishment sets a record-breaking MoU total of ₹3,53,675 crores, signifying a significant milestone for the state.

Expressing gratitude to investors, Chief Minister Shinde noted a heightened confidence in global industries, with a substantial ₹1 lakh crore interest in investment. These agreements are expected to usher in a substantial employment surge of 2 lakhs in the state.

Emphasizing tangible implementation, Chief Minister Shinde highlighted the accelerated growth compared to the previous year. The state’s image, he noted, has been spotlighted as people-oriented with a strong emphasis on industrialization, skilled manpower, and quick decision-making.

The detailed breakdown of investments and employment opportunities across various industries includes agreements signed on January 16 and 17, with additional contracts slated for January 18.

January 16:

  1. Inox Air Products: ₹25,000 crores (5,000 jobs)
  2. BC Jindal: ₹41,000 crores (5,000 jobs)
  3. JSW Steel: ₹25,000 crores (15,000 jobs)
  4. AB in Bev: ₹600 crores (150 jobs)
  5. Godrej Agrovet: ₹1,000 crores (650 jobs)
  6. US-based data company: ₹10,000 crores (200 jobs)

January 17:

  1. Adani Group: ₹50,000 crores (500 jobs)
  2. Swiss Indian Chamber of Commerce: ₹1,158 crores (500 jobs)
  3. Indian Jewelry Park: ₹50,000 crores (1 lakh jobs)
  4. Web Works: ₹5,000 crores (100 jobs)
  5. Indospace in logistics (ESR, KSH, Pragati): ₹3,500 crores (15,000 jobs)
  6. Conglomerate company in natural resources: ₹20,000 crores (4,000 jobs)

January 18:

  1. Surjagad Ispat: ₹10,000 crores (5,000 jobs)
  2. Kalika Steel: ₹900 crores (800 jobs)
  3. Million Steel: ₹250 crores (300 jobs)
  4. Hyundai Motors: ₹7,000 crores (4,000 jobs)
  5. ALU Tech of Qatar: ₹2,075 crores (400 jobs)
  6. CTRLS: ₹8,600 crores (2,500 jobs)

Chief Minister Shinde also highlighted the substantial interest of ₹1 lakh crore from various industries, including Arcelor Nippon Mittal and companies from Saudi Arabia and Oman.

Successful Industry Discussions in Davos:

Chief Minister Eknath Shinde engaged in fruitful discussions with industry groups, including Gautam Adani of Adani Group, exploring infrastructure opportunities in Maharashtra. Meetings with Lakshmi Mittal, Linkstein’s prince, Louis Dreyfus, and South Korea’s Gyogni Province Governor Kim Dong Yeon focused on investment cooperation, industrial expansion, and expertise exchange.

Additionally, discussions with David Krobok of Witkowitz Atomica Company centered on exploring investment opportunities in small modular nuclear reactor technology.
