Gunn’s post not only showcased the captivating new Superman logo but also highlighted the commencement of principal photography on SUPERMAN. The post coincidentally aligned with Superman’s birthday on February 29, adding a touch of serendipity to the announcement.

The revelation of the new title accompanied a personal note from James Gunn. He stated, “When I finished the first draft of the script, I called the film Superman: Legacy. By the time I locked the final draft, it was clear the title was SUPERMAN. Making our way to you July 2025.”
