Exploring Pune: Union Living’s Innovative Co-Living Approach

Pune, known for its vibrant mix of demographics and opportunities, has become the latest focus for Mumbai-based startup Union Living. This co-living brand has introduced a unique concept that is rapidly gaining traction among students, professionals, couples, and elderly individuals. With its flagship property named Hamlet, Union Living is reshaping the way people experience communal living by providing a judgment-free and vibrant environment enriched with fitness activities, creative events, and a strong sense of belonging.

Parth Soni, one of the founders of Union Living, emphasizes the brand’s commitment to fostering a sense of community that goes beyond mere physical spaces. By organizing diverse community events and activities, Union Living aims to create deep connections and lasting friendships among its residents. Founded in 2020 by Parth and his brother Rishabh Soni, Union Living has established co-living properties in various parts of Mumbai, including Juhu-Santacruz, Andheri East, and Navi Mumbai.

The expansion to Pune was driven by the city’s density and diverse target audience. Hamlet, the newly established co-living space in Pune, has already achieved a 50% occupancy rate. Parth Soni explains that Pune’s unique blend of characteristics, sitting between Mumbai and Bengaluru, provides an ideal setting for Union Living’s concept. The city’s thriving job market, growing student population, and rich cultural diversity make it a prime location for Union Living’s innovative approach to co-living.

Union Living’s presence in Pune includes Hamlet, a property at Dhankawadi, and an upcoming space in Koregaon Park. The company’s focus on creating inclusive and vibrant communities has resonated well with residents. Each property is designed to maximize comfort while offering access to a variety of amenities. At Hamlet, residents not only enjoy personal bedrooms but also have access to a gym with dedicated trainers, a terrace for community-building workshops, and a mental health app subscription.

The success of Union Living is evident in its annual turnover of Rs 15 crore and the steady growth of its bed count. Currently operating 1,000 beds, the company has signed agreements for another 1,000 beds and aims to expand to approximately 4,000 beds by the end of the next year. This expansion reflects the growing demand for Union Living’s unique co-living experience that eliminates the hassles associated with traditional renting and fosters a strong sense of community and connection.

Furthermore, Union Living is not only transforming the co-living landscape but also catering to travelers. Hamlet’s concept includes 12 rooms designed to function as a Bed and Breakfast (BnB) for short and long-term guests. This innovative addition addresses a gap in the market by providing travelers with a comfortable and well-serviced alternative to traditional accommodations.

In essence, Union Living is not just offering co-living spaces; it’s redefining the way people connect, collaborate, and grow. The brand’s expansion into Pune and its focus on fostering community bonds through innovative amenities and events showcase its dedication to creating a holistic and enriching living experience.
