New Delhi, 31st July 2023: Bollywood actress Nora Fatehi has broken her silence and provided her statement in the defamation case she filed against actor Jacqueline Fernandez at Delhi’s Patiala House Court.
During her statement, Fatehi vehemently denied any association with the individuals involved in the money laundering case connected to conman Sukesh Chandrasekhar. She asserted that false allegations of being a “gold digger” and having a relationship with Sukesh Chandrasekhar were made against her to divert attention from the actual culprits.
Jacqueline Fernandez is allegedly involved in a Rs 200 crore money laundering case filed against Sukesh Chandrasekhar by the Enforcement Directorate (ED). Nora Fatehi and Chahatt Khanna are witnesses in the extortion case against Chandrasekhar, which is currently under investigation by the Delhi Police.
Providing her statement under 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) before the magistrate, Fatehi highlighted the severe impact of her involvement in the case on her professional opportunities, reputation, and mental well-being. She expressed her motivation for pursuing the defamation case, emphasizing that she had no connection with Sukesh’s activities or the people involved in the case.
Fatehi firmly stated that she was unfairly targeted and portrayed as a scapegoat by certain media outlets, likely due to her status as an outsider in the industry and her individual standing in the country.
The actress seeks compensation for the damages inflicted upon her career and hard-earned reputation over the past eight years. The defamation suit was filed on December 12 of the previous year after Nora Fatehi was implicated in the money laundering case involving Sukesh Chandrasekhar, and Jacqueline Fernandez was also allegedly linked to the same case.
Fatehi’s petition further claimed that her rival actor, Jacqueline Fernandez, and certain media organizations were conspiring together to bring about her financial, social, and personal downfall. The alleged conspiracy was carried out through their coordinated actions, as stated in Fatehi’s petition.
The court proceedings will continue as Nora Fatehi seeks to clear her name and restore her reputation amidst the ongoing legal battle.
