Amrit Udyan Extends Hours to 6 PM, Welcomes Enthusiasts for an Extended Floral Experience

In a delightful move for nature enthusiasts and tourists, Amrit Udyan, formerly known as Mughal Gardens, situated in the iconic Rashtrapati Bhavan, will now keep its gates open until 6 pm for the public, offering an extended opportunity to revel in the breathtaking floral beauty.

According to an official statement from the President’s office on Saturday, visitors can now explore the enchanting gardens six days a week, from 10 am to 6 pm, with the last entry allowed until 5 pm. Previously, the garden closed at 5 pm, except on Mondays when it remained closed for maintenance.

The extension in hours is part of the ongoing ‘Udyan Utsav 2024,’ inaugurated by President Murmu on February 1. The garden opened its gates for visitors from February 2, showcasing a stunning array of over 85 species of flowers, including a unique floral clock and a designated selfie point.

To experience the beauty of Amrit Udyan, visitors can conveniently book tickets online through the official website of Rashtrapati Bhavan (visit.rashtrapatibhavan.gov.in) or register at the facilitation counters or the self-service kiosk near gate no 12.

Spanning across 15 acres, Amrit Udyan boasts a thematic garden featuring 18 different types of tulips, amounting to a total of 42,000 flowers, making their debut to the public this season. Additionally, visitors can explore a Bonsai garden showcasing over 300 plants, providing a unique and serene experience.

For the convenience of visitors, the garden allows the carrying of mobile phones, electronic keys, purses/handbags, water bottles, and milk bottles for babies. Essential facilities, including drinking water, toilets, and first aid/medical care, are available along the public route. To further facilitate visitors, a shuttle bus service is in place from Central Secretariat Metro Station to gate no 35 of the President’s estate.

Amrit Udyan will enchant visitors with its floral wonders until March 31, making it a must-visit destination for those seeking a serene escape amidst nature’s splendor.
