Mia Khalifa’s Support for Palestine Costs Her Advisor Position at Red Light Holland

Former adult film star Mia Khalifa has found herself in hot water and facing job termination following her recent social media posts regarding the Israel vs. Hamas conflict.

Khalifa, a well-known figure for her outspoken views, took to X, formerly known as Twitter, in the aftermath of a deadly attack by Hamas on Israel over the weekend. The attack resulted in significant casualties and hostages taken by militants, prompting Israel to launch retaliatory airstrikes on Gaza.

However, Khalifa’s comments on the conflict quickly ignited a firestorm of controversy as she expressed her support for Palestine. In one post, she urged Palestinian “freedom fighters” to film horizontally, drawing criticism for her choice of words.

In another post, she commented on the conflict, stating, “I can’t believe the Zionist apartheid regime is being brought down by guerrilla fighters in fake Gucci shirts – the biopics of these moments better reflect that.”

These posts caught the attention of Red Light Holland, a company engaged in the production, growth, and sale of functional mushrooms and mushroom home grow kits in North America and Europe. Earlier this year, Khalifa had been brought on board by the company as an advisor, responsible for developing strategic social purpose and community engagement initiatives, as well as enhancing the company’s online presence through social media marketing.

Red Light Holland CEO Todd Shapiro expressed his shock and condemnation of Khalifa’s comments related to the Israel vs. Hamas conflict. In response to her tweet urging Palestinians to “flip their phones and film horizontally,” Shapiro declared, “This is such a horrendous tweet @miakhalifa. Consider yourself fired effective immediately. Simply disgusting. Beyond disgusting.”

Shapiro continued, “Please evolve and become a better human being. The fact that you are condoning death, rape, beatings, and hostage-taking is truly appalling. No words can describe your ignorance.”

He emphasized the importance of unity and compassion during times of tragedy and expressed his hope for Khalifa’s personal growth. In response to her termination, Khalifa acknowledged that her support for Palestine had led to the loss of business opportunities but also expressed regret for not verifying her association with Red Light Holland.

In a post on X, Khalifa stated, “I would say that supporting Palestine has cost me business opportunities, but I’m more upset with myself for not checking whether or not I was entering into business with Zionists. My mistake.”

In a separate post, she reiterated her stance, saying, “That’s the most attention you’ll ever get from me for your mediocre little company that I couldn’t bring myself to promote publicly before because I thought it was subpar. It’s ‘FREE PALESTINE’ until Palestine is free.”
