Bengaluru Leads in Job Postings for Content Creators and Influencers in India: Survey

The job landscape in India is experiencing a significant shift as the demand for social media influencers and content creators continues to surge. According to a recent report by job site Indeed, job postings for these roles have seen a remarkable increase of 117 percent, accompanied by a 75.30 percent rise in clicks on related job alerts. Among Indian cities, Bengaluru has emerged as the frontrunner in terms of job postings for influencer marketing roles.

Indeed’s data reveals that Bengaluru claims a substantial 16 percent share of the influencer and content creator job market, earning it the title of “the influencer marketing capital of the country.” This dominance is followed by Delhi-NCR and Mumbai, with market shares of 9 percent and 7.5 percent, respectively. On the other end of the spectrum, Jaipur, Surat, and Indore have the lowest number of job postings for influencer marketing roles, each holding less than a 1 percent share.

The phenomenon of Bengaluru’s dominance in this arena can be attributed to its status as a major IT hub and a hotspot for startups. As the city becomes home to an increasing number of startups, businesses are turning to influencer marketing as a means to connect with their target audience. Consequently, professionals skilled in managing influencer campaigns are in high demand.

In today’s digital era, influencers and content creators have transcended the realm of conventional jobs. Their roles now encompass creative expression and profound impact, making them pivotal for brands that seek to engage with consumers on digital platforms. This evolution is mirrored in the job market, with a surge in postings and clicks related to influencer and content creator roles.

According to Saumitra Chand, career expert at Indeed India, the trend of hiring professionals for content creation and influencer roles is on an upward trajectory. While individuals can still achieve success as independent content creators or influencers, businesses are increasingly recognizing the value of hiring experts in these fields. The digital landscape’s continuous expansion, as more people go online, drives the demand for captivating and informative content.

Chand further emphasized that if you possess talents as a content creator or influencer, the present time offers unparalleled opportunities in India’s evolving job market. The surge in demand for these roles is expected to persist, making it an exciting era for those who specialize in creating compelling content and influencing online audiences.
