Chinese tech giant Xiaomi is set to debut its first-ever WiFi 7 router, the BE 3600, on January 30th in China. The company, known for its focus on affordability, aims to offer budget-conscious users access to the latest wireless standard, pricing the BE 3600 below 299 yuan (approximately $43 or Rs 3,500).
Xiaomi BE 3600 WiFi 7 Router Overview:
The upcoming BE 3600 WiFi 7 router from Xiaomi features a 2.5Gbps high-speed network port, a 4-core chip, and Internet of Things (IoT) connectivity capabilities for managing smart home devices. Positioned as Xiaomi’s most budget-friendly WiFi 7 router, the BE 3600 joins the existing lineup, including models like BE 6500 Pro, BE 7000, and the 10 Gigabit router.
Xiaomi’s WiFi 7 Router Lineup:
In October, Xiaomi introduced the BE 6500 Pro, priced at 699 yuan (approximately $100). This model boasts a Qualcomm 4-core A53 1.5GHz CPU, 1GB of memory, and features such as a full 2.5Gbps network port, dual WAN and LAN port aggregation support, and speeds of up to 5Gbps.
Understanding WiFi 7:
WiFi 7, also known as IEEE 802.11be, serves as the successor to Wi-Fi 6, and Xiaomi’s WiFi 7 routers, including the BE 3600, are expected to follow this naming convention. The new standard introduces features like 320MHz bandwidth, 4096-QAM modulation, Multiple Resource Units (MRU), and Multi-link Operation (MLO). These advancements result in impressive speeds, with peak rates exceeding 40Gbps, making WiFi 7 up to four times faster than its predecessor Wi-Fi 6.
