The leaked screenshot reveals a padlock icon accompanied by the label “End-to-End Encrypted” prominently displayed within the top app bar. The purpose of this new addition is to offer users participating in an end-to-end encrypted conversation the confidence that their private messages remain inaccessible to unauthorized parties.
While existing chats on WhatsApp are already protected by end-to-end encryption, this visual indicator is expected to become a standard feature with a future app update, enhancing the overall user experience.
