Twitter Expands Video Upload Limit to Over 3 Hours, Enhancing Content Creation Options

Twitter will soon be introducing a new feature that allows users to upload videos longer than 3 hours, according to recent announcements. The micro-blogging platform’s owner, Elon Musk, had previously mentioned the ability to upload 2-hour videos for Twitter Blue Verified subscribers back in May.

The news came after Elon Musk responded to a tweet from American comedian and podcaster Theo Von, who stated, “Comedy is legal on this platform!” Musk replied, “Coming,” indicating that Twitter is working on implementing the feature.

Lex Fridman, host of the popular Lex Fridman Podcast and a recent participant in a jiu-jitsu training video with Musk, expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming feature. He suggested that the ability to upload 3+ hour podcast videos with timestamps and chapters would be great. Musk acknowledged the suggestion and expressed his gratitude.

Twitter users also chimed in on the conversation. Some expressed their excitement for the feature, requesting Musk to bring it as soon as possible. Others mentioned the need for faster uploading times, as they have experienced delays even when uploading short videos.

In May, Elon Musk had announced that Twitter Blue Verified subscribers could upload 2-hour videos, with a file size limit of 8GB. This change in video capabilities was accompanied by an update to the Twitter Blue page, informing users that the video file size limit for paid subscribers had been increased from 2GB to 8GB. However, it’s important to note that the maximum upload quality remains at 1080p.

These developments demonstrate Twitter’s ongoing efforts to enhance its video capabilities and provide users with more options for content creation and sharing. By allowing longer videos, Twitter aims to cater to podcasters, content creators, and users who want to share extended video content with their followers.

As Twitter continues to evolve, users can look forward to an enhanced video experience on the platform, enabling them to engage with and enjoy a wider range of content.
