Telegram Unveils Feature-Packed Update for Android and iOS Users

September 26, 2023: Telegram, one of the world’s leading messaging apps, has announced a substantial update for its Android and iOS users. This update introduces a plethora of exciting features, including reaction stickers, view once media, music integration in stories, and more. Telegram continues to enhance its offerings, keeping users engaged and providing them with innovative ways to communicate and share content.

Stories for Channels: Elevating User Engagement

Telegram is introducing a significant enhancement to its Channels feature by introducing “Stories for Channels.” This feature allows Telegram users to empower their favorite channels to post stories by providing them with boosts. As channels gain more boosts, they level up, enabling them to post one additional story per day to their subscribers’ story feeds. Achieving level 10 provides channels with over 15 resistance to trolls and unlocks unique admin skins. Notably, this feature is exclusively available to Telegram Premium subscribers.

Channels can also request boosts from their subscribers using a designated link. To obtain the boost link and monitor their progress, channel administrators can navigate to Channel Info > More > Statistics > Boosts.

Reaction Stickers in Stories: Express with Emojis

Both users and channels can now enhance their stories with reaction stickers, making it easier for viewers to respond with emojis in just one tap. Users can simply add a reaction sticker to a post in a Telegram Channel by tapping the cloud icon in the sticker panel and selecting an emoji from the extensive array of options. While premium subscribers can include up to five stickers and utilize custom emojis, non-Premium subscribers are limited to adding just one reaction sticker to a post.

Your Music in Stories: Audio Integration

Telegram is introducing a feature that allows users to incorporate audio files from their smartphones into photo and video stories. To utilize this feature, users can access the sticker panel, tap on ‘Audio,’ select a file, and adjust the track to their preference. This feature provides flexibility in maintaining the original sound in video stories while adding audio tracks at any point, creating a more dynamic storytelling experience.

View-Once Media: Enhanced Privacy

Building on its commitment to privacy, Telegram has expanded its self-destructing media functionality with the introduction of View Once settings. In one-on-one chats, users can tap the View Once Icon in the media editor to determine how long their photo or video will remain visible after opening, ranging from a single view to 30 seconds. View-Once media is automatically removed from the chat once the recipient has viewed it.

New Login Alerts: Enhanced Security

To bolster security, Telegram now sends notifications to all devices whenever someone logs into a user’s account. To make these alerts more noticeable, new logins are prominently displayed at the top of the chat list.

With this comprehensive update, Telegram continues to evolve its platform, providing users with a richer and more interactive messaging experience. These new features are poised to enhance user engagement, privacy, and creativity within the Telegram community.
