TCS Onboards 10,000 Freshers, Prepares for Second Recruitment Phase

NQT by TCS iON Facilitates Recruitment Drive Amidst Challenging IT Hiring Landscape

In a significant development amidst subdued hiring trends in the IT sector, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has successfully hired over 10,000 fresh graduates. The company is now gearing up for the second phase of its recruitment drive, offering hope to engineering colleges and aspiring students alike.

Key Points:

  1. Recruitment Strategy: TCS has adopted a multi-phased recruitment approach, with the National Qualifier Test (NQT) by TCS iON serving as a pivotal component. The NQT evaluates candidates’ cognitive abilities and job-specific expertise, streamlining the hiring process for both TCS and external firms.
  2. Phased Recruitment: The recruitment drive is segmented into phases, with the first phase targeting “priority colleges.” Following the successful onboarding of 10,000 freshers, TCS is poised to initiate the second phase, scheduled for April 26, encompassing a broader pool of candidates.
  3. Job Categories and Packages: TCS is hiring for three distinct categories: Ninja, Digital, and Prime. The Ninja category offers an annual package of Rs 3.36 lakh, while the Digital category presents opportunities with an annual package of Rs 7 lakh. The Prime category recruits can expect lucrative packages ranging from Rs 9 to 11.5 lakh annually.
  4. Ongoing Recruitment Drive: The recruitment process for the financial year 2024-25 commenced in January, with TCS actively engaging with campuses since March. Milind Lakkad, Chief HR Officer at TCS, expressed optimism during a December earnings call, highlighting the company’s commitment to recruiting fresh talent amidst evolving industry dynamics.

As TCS continues to pave the way for young talent and navigate the evolving landscape of the IT industry, its commitment to fostering innovation and growth remains unwavering. With the commencement of the second hiring phase and ongoing recruitment initiatives for the upcoming fiscal year, TCS reaffirms its position as a leading employer and a catalyst for professional development. Amidst economic uncertainties, the company’s proactive approach underscores its dedication to driving positive change and creating opportunities for the next generation of technologists.
