Samsung One UI 6 Watch Beta: Launching Soon on Select Galaxy Watches

Samsung has officially announced the launch of the One UI 6 Watch Beta Program, set to go live next month. This program, highlighted in a recent press release, will be available for select Galaxy Watch models and specific countries, offering users an early glimpse into the features of the Android 14-based Wear OS 5.

Eligible Devices

The Wear OS 5-based One UI 6 Watch Beta will be accessible to users of Samsung’s Galaxy Watch 4, Watch 5, and Watch 6 series. It’s noteworthy that the Galaxy Watch 4 series, as previously reported, is slated to receive this significant upgrade later in the year.

Eligible Countries

However, this beta testing opportunity will be geographically restricted. Only users residing in the United States and South Korea will be able to participate in the Beta Program. This limitation ensures that Samsung can closely monitor feedback and performance in these regions before a broader release.

Enrollment Process

Much like the One UI Beta for Samsung mobile devices, the smartwatch-specific Beta Program can be accessed through the Samsung Members app. Users interested in participating will need to enroll via their Galaxy device, enabling them to receive the test builds over the air.

Key Features and Advancements

The One UI 6 Watch will introduce several new features aimed at enhancing user experience. One of the notable integrations is Galaxy AI, which will be included in the eligible smartwatches. This AI integration aims to provide users with more precise and useful insights into their health and wellness metrics.

Samsung has teased several upcoming features for the One UI 6 Watch, including:

  • Energy Score: A metric to help users gauge their daily energy levels.
  • Wellness Tips: Personalized advice to improve overall health.
  • Sleep Insights: Detailed analysis of sleep patterns.
  • Aerobic Threshold (AT) / Anaerobic Threshold (AnT) Heart Rate Zone: Advanced heart rate monitoring for different exercise intensities.
  • Functional Threshold Power (FTP): A feature for cyclists to measure their performance.
  • Workout Routine: Customized exercise plans.
  • Race Mode: Tools and metrics for competitive running.
