Samsung Expands One UI 6 Watch AI Features to All Android Devices

Samsung recently unveiled a suite of new Galaxy AI features set to enhance the Galaxy Watch lineup starting this July. New insights suggest that Samsung is planning to extend One UI 6 Watch’s Galaxy AI capabilities to all Android phones, marking a significant expansion of their ecosystem. Additionally, the company announced plans to transition some Galaxy AI features to a paid model next year.

Expanding AI Features Across Android Devices

The information indicates that Samsung intends to make the Galaxy Watch’s AI features available to all Android phones. This rollout may include select features integrated with the Samsung Health app, while other AI-powered functionalities could be offered through additional dedicated apps and services.

To utilize these features, devices must run on Android 10 or higher and have Samsung Health version 6.27 or above installed. Users will need to log in with a Samsung account. Notably, to access the Energy Score feature, health data tracked by a Galaxy Watch (from the Galaxy Watch4 or later series) must be synchronized with the Samsung Health app.

Upcoming Beta Program

A Beta Program is set to launch this month, introducing several new features:

  • Energy Score: An assessment of your daily energy levels.
  • Wellness Tips: Personalized health and fitness advice.
  • Sleep Insights: Detailed analysis of sleep patterns and recommendations.
  • Aerobic Threshold (AT) / Anaerobic Threshold (AnT) Heart Rate Zone: Advanced metrics for optimizing workout intensity.
  • Functional Threshold Power (FTP): Measurement of cycling power output.
  • Workout Routine: Customizable exercise plans.
  • Race Mode: Competitive features for tracking and enhancing performance in races.

This Beta will be accessible for users of the Galaxy Watch 4, Watch 5, and Watch 6 series, allowing them to experience these innovations during the development phase. To participate, users must enroll in the Beta program via their Galaxy device.

Future Plans

Samsung’s strategy to integrate AI features across a broader range of devices highlights their commitment to enhancing user experiences through intelligent health and fitness solutions. The shift to a paid model for some Galaxy AI features next year suggests a move towards creating a more sustainable and premium service offering.

By extending these features to all Android phones, Samsung is not only bolstering its ecosystem but also providing more users access to advanced health and wellness tools. This move is likely to set a new standard in the wearable and mobile health industry, driving further innovation and adoption of AI-driven health technologies.
