Samsung Electronics has announced a strategic joint venture with Lennox International to enhance the availability of advanced ductless HVAC systems in the United States and Canada. Lennox, a renowned leader in climate control solutions within the HVACR industry, will collaborate closely with Samsung to drive innovation and market reach.

Leveraging SmartThings AI for Enhanced Smart Home Integration

The Korean tech giant, Samsung, intends to utilize its expertise in artificial intelligence, software, smartphones, and semiconductors to enrich smart home services. The integration will be facilitated through the seamless connectivity of Samsung SmartThings devices.

One of the key features, SmartThings Energy, enables users to monitor and manage their home’s overall energy consumption efficiently. Additionally, the AI Energy mode within SmartThings Energy assists in reducing the energy usage of connected home appliances, promoting energy conservation and cost savings.

Expressing his enthusiasm for the partnership, Choi Kyung-sik, president of Samsung Electronics North America, stated, “We are pleased to have entered into a long-term collaboration with Lennox to lead the air conditioning market.”

The newly formed joint venture, Samsung Lennox HVAC NA, will focus on distributing Samsung’s ductless HVAC products across the United States and Canada. Additionally, it will market “Lennox powered by Samsung”-branded products through Lennox’s established stores and direct-to-dealer networks.

Samsung will hold a majority stake of 50.1% in the joint venture, while Lennox will own the remaining 49.9%. This partnership aims to bolster Samsung’s footprint in the North American HVAC market, leveraging Lennox’s strong distribution channels and market expertise.
