Microsoft Paint Embraces the Future with AI Integration: Meet Cocreator

In a significant leap forward, Microsoft Paint is shedding its traditional image with the integration of DALL-E 3, also known as Cocreator. This AI-powered feature, previously a highlight in Bing AI, empowers users to transform textual descriptions and preferred art styles into vibrant images.

Microsoft’s announcement during its September 26 event has materialized into a broader release for all Windows 11 users, marking a pivotal moment for Paint enthusiasts. According to a report by Windows Latest, Cocreator for Paint has successfully navigated the testing phase and is now available for exploration. While the rollout may be gradual, eager users can dive into this artistic tool by ensuring they have the latest version of Paint installed, and may even find themselves joining a waiting list within the app.

Accessing the AI image creation tool is straightforward. Simply open Paint, locate the Cocreator icon in the toolbar, and unfold the Cocreator side panel. In the text box, vividly describe the image you envision – be it “a dog wearing fancy clothes” or “a sunset at the beach.” Choose a style for your creation and hit the Create button. Cocreator will present three variations of your description, allowing you to select the one that resonates with your artistic vision.

Microsoft has gone the extra mile to make Cocreator accessible to users. A step-by-step tutorial within the Paint app walks users through the functionalities of Cocreator, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable AI-powered image creation experience.

The introduction of Cocreator is just one facet of Paint’s evolution on Windows 11. Earlier this year, the transparency effect was added, providing users with heightened creative flexibility. Responding to user demands, layers have been seamlessly integrated, elevating the digital art creation process. Paint users on Windows 11 can also take advantage of background removal, a feature designed for efficient background elimination with minimal user input.

This latest update aligns with Microsoft’s overarching strategy of enhancing its core Windows 11 apps. The Photos app, too, received an update, introducing features like background removal and a background blur option, enriching the user experience and solidifying Windows 11 as a platform where creativity knows no bounds.
