Meta’s Threads App Set to Level Up: Testing Instagram-like Bookmark Feature for Saved Posts

In a bid to address user demands and further improve the Threads app, Meta’s Threads has begun testing a feature that has long been requested by users – an Instagram-like bookmark feature for saving favorite posts. This move comes as Threads, initially launched as a Twitter rival (now X), aims to solidify its position in the social media landscape after a noteworthy surge in popularity.

Threads app gaining momentum:

After an initial surge to 100 million users and a subsequent fall, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg recently shared that the Threads app has now garnered over 130 million active users. With this positive momentum, Meta is actively working to incorporate new features and improvements based on user feedback.

Instagram-like bookmark feature:

The forthcoming Instagram-like bookmark feature on Threads is designed to allow users to save and revisit their favorite posts, providing a familiar functionality seen on Instagram. Adam Mosseri, head of Instagram, confirmed the testing of this “heavily requested” feature in a recent post on Threads. The bookmark button, currently under limited user testing, resembles the Instagram Save button.

How the feature works:

Users will be able to access their bookmarked posts by navigating to the app’s settings and then entering the “Save” tab. This organizational feature is expected to bring more order and convenience to the Threads app, addressing some of the concerns raised by users in the past.

Ongoing user feedback:

Adam Mosseri’s post also encourages users to share feedback on other features they would like to see in the Threads app. Meta Platforms aims to continue incorporating user suggestions to enhance the overall Threads experience.

While recent updates, including searchable tags, have added to the app’s functionality, the introduction of the save button is expected to further improve the app’s organization and user-friendliness.
