DownDetector.com recorded over 3 lakh reports of outages in the US, while more than 15,000 users reported issues with Instagram and Facebook in India. Users faced difficulties such as the inability to refresh their Instagram feed and login troubles on Facebook.
As of now, the reason behind the outage remains unclear, and only Meta-owned apps appear to be affected. The company has yet to provide an official update on the situation, and users are eagerly awaiting information about the restoration of services.
Interestingly, around the same time as Meta’s outage, Google-owned platforms, including YouTube, Google Play Store, and Google Search, also experienced outages for many users, as reported by DownDetector.com. However, the impact on Google-owned apps seems to be less severe compared to the Meta outage.
