Maxis and TM Extend Partnership: Malaysian High-Speed Broadband Services Secured Until 2029

Malaysian telecommunications giant Maxis has announced the extension of its partnership with Telekom Malaysia (TM) for High-Speed Broadband (HSBB) services, securing access until 2029. Through this collaboration, Maxis will continue utilizing TM’s extensive fiber network to provide fixed broadband services and value-added offerings to its customers.

Network Expansion and Improved Efficiency

The extended partnership allows Maxis to further broaden the reach of its high-speed internet connectivity to additional premises nationwide, complementing its existing fiber network, which currently serves over 700,000 homes and businesses. Premium services offered under this collaboration include enhanced connectivity options and digital solutions tailored for enterprise customers, aiming to improve overall efficiency.

Customer-Focused Approach

In a statement, Maxis expressed its satisfaction in deepening the partnership with TM to drive widespread broadband adoption in the nation. The collaboration aligns with Maxis’ integrated telco strategy, enabling the efficient deployment of resources and a heightened focus on enhancing the customer experience.

“We are pleased to extend and deepen our partnership with TM to further drive broadband adoption for the nation. The partnership in conjunction with our own extensive fibre network and core mobile business allows us to deploy our resources more efficiently and effectively so we are able to place greater focus on customer experience. This is in line with our integrated telco strategy of fulfilling all our customers’ connectivity needs,” stated Maxis.

Historic Collaboration

Maxis highlighted its historical significance by becoming the first telecom provider to sign an HSBB access agreement with TM in 2010. TM stands as Maxis’ most significant HSBB services partner in their ongoing collaboration.

Earlier this year, TM further enhanced its mobile connectivity nationwide by securing access to Maxis’ 4G Multi Operator Core Network (MOCN) and 4G and 2G Domestic Roaming Services.
