In an exciting development, Instagram, owned by Meta, is currently experimenting with a groundbreaking feature that allows users to revamp their profile pictures with short, looping videos directly in Notes. Instagram’s head, Adam Mosseri, offered a sneak peek of how this novel feature will function through a video shared on his broadcast channel.
“Soon, people will be able to update their default profile photo in notes with a short, looping video. You’ll still be able to share a thought via text to accompany the video. If you start seeing videos in notes, let us know what you think,” Mosseri announced.
As per the demonstration video, a new camera icon will make its appearance on the profile picture when users initiate the note creation process. By simply clicking on this icon, users can record a video to share in their Notes.
Additionally, Instagram is exploring an interesting concept inspired by Elon Musk’s platform, X. This idea involves creating a feed that exclusively showcases posts from paid and verified users. Mosseri shared that this initiative is being explored to provide users with more control and to offer businesses and creators a unique discovery opportunity.
The new “Meta Verified” toggle will become accessible under the “Following” and “Favourites” sections when you tap on the Instagram logo at the top of the app.
