Google to Unveil AI-Powered Photo Editing Suite for iPhone Users

Magic Editor and More: Google Photos Brings Advanced Editing Tools to iOS Devices

Google is set to revolutionize iPhone photography with the introduction of its AI-powered editing features, including Magic Eraser and Photo Unblur, to iOS users starting next month, free of charge.

The tech giant announced that these cutting-edge AI tools, designed to enhance photos effortlessly, will be available to iPhone users beginning May 15, marking a significant expansion of Google Photos’ capabilities on Apple devices.

“Google Photos has several features to help you enhance your pictures without pro-level editing skills, from removing a distraction in the background to unblurring a fuzzy shot. And now we’re bringing those capabilities to even more people,” stated Google in a blog post.

Magic Editor, a groundbreaking feature introduced with the Google Pixel 8 series last year, harnesses generative AI to execute complex photo edits seamlessly. From filling in missing parts of a photo to adjusting foreground and background elements, Magic Editor empowers users to achieve professional-level edits with ease, all thanks to AI automation.

Previously exclusive to Google Pixel 8 owners and Google One subscribers, Magic Editor will now be accessible to iOS users, democratizing advanced photo editing capabilities across platforms. Google Photos for iOS and Android will include 10 Magic Editor saves per month, with additional usage available through the purchase of a Premium Google One plan.

In addition to Magic Editor, Google is introducing a myriad of new editing tools to Google Photos, including Photo Unblur, Sky suggestions, Color pop, HDR effect for photos and videos, Portrait Blur, Portrait Light, Cinematic Photos, and Styles in the Collage Editor.

To utilize these AI features on Apple devices, users must have iOS 15 or later installed. Google Photos can be downloaded for free on iPhone and iPad from the App Store, with the rollout of these tools scheduled to commence on May 15 and gradually extend to all compatible devices in the following weeks.
