Generative AI Poised to Break Barriers and Transform Inventory Management for India’s Entrepreneurs”
In a groundbreaking revelation at Google Cloud Next ’24, Will Grannis, Vice President and Chief Technology Officer at Google Cloud, emphasized the transformative potential of generative AI for small businesses in India. Speaking at a media roundtable during the event held in Las Vegas, Grannis highlighted the pivotal role of AI in dismantling barriers to market access and streamlining inventory management for entrepreneurs.
Grannis articulated, “I believe that generative AI, particularly in the context of India and its small enterprises, will be profoundly impactful. It will eliminate hurdles associated with entering new markets and alleviate the burden of inventory creation, a significant risk for businesses.”
Reflecting on his visit to India during Google I/O in 2023, Grannis underscored the burgeoning trend of cloud adoption among small-scale ventures in the country.
“I had the opportunity to witness firsthand some of the initial applications of cloud technology by small businesses, including individual artisans navigating the AI landscape. Previously, such entities would grapple with the challenge of inventory management, attempting to anticipate customer preferences and market demands,” Grannis elaborated.
He elucidated the transformative potential of generative AI, elucidating how businesses can leverage AI models to effortlessly generate diverse product variations based on natural language instructions, without the need for extensive datasets or technical expertise.
Google Cloud’s Next ’24 event in Las Vegas, held from March 9 to March 11, serves as a platform to showcase cutting-edge AI technologies, including generative AI capabilities, alongside insights from customers and partners.
