BSNL Initiates Fiberization Project in Tamil Nadu for High-Speed Connectivity

In a significant move toward enhancing internet services in Tamil Nadu, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has rolled out the “BSNL Mission Mode Fiberization” project. This initiative focuses on upgrading existing copper-based landline and broadband connections to high-speed fiber connections, with a goal to complete the transition within six months.

Transition Plan and Benefits: BSNL customers in Tamil Nadu will benefit from this project by receiving a complimentary optical fiber modem and experiencing a smooth transition without incurring any installation charges. The transition ensures that customers can retain their existing telephone numbers, contributing to a hassle-free shift to the high-speed fiber network.

BSNL High-Speed FTTH Services: BSNL is offering wired line internet services through Fiber to the Home (FTTH) technology in Tamil Nadu, providing high-speed unlimited data ranging from 30 Mbps to 300 Mbps. The services include unlimited voice calls and Quality of Service (QoS), catering to diverse customer needs across residential, commercial, institutional, and business sectors. Additionally, BSNL offers value-added OTT services to its customers.

BSNL Network Coverage: With approximately 4.6 Lakh FTTH connections, BSNL has expanded its network to every corner of Tamil Nadu, covering remote rural areas and challenging terrains. The transition to fiber service is expected to significantly improve data services, offering speeds from 30 Mbps to 300 Mbps compared to the previous 10 Mbps in copper broadband service.

Plan Options and Pricing: BSNL’s FTTH plans are designed to cater to diverse needs, providing customers with varying data speeds and additional services such as OTT and Static IP. Unlimited voice calls are included free of charge with every FTTH data plan. Plan options range from 30 Mbps at Rs 399 to 300 Mbps at Rs 1,799. BSNL also offers Static IPs at a nominal rate for FTTH monthly plans exceeding Rs 599.

Seamless Transition Process: BSNL Tamil Nadu Circle encourages all customers using copper-based services to visit the nearest BSNL office or customer service center for a seamless upgrade to Fiber. Additionally, authorized FTTH partners will reach out to copper customers to facilitate their transition.
