Apple Vision Pro Viral Videos Spark Safety Concerns as Users Flaunt Headset in Inappropriate Situations

In the wake of Apple’s recent release of the Vision Pro headset, viral videos circulating on social media platforms like X (formerly Twitter) are causing concern as users flaunt the device in inappropriate and potentially hazardous scenarios. The headset, designed for controlled and safe environments, has been spotted in busy streets, public transport, and even on a Tesla driver navigating a busy highway.

Released just last week, Apple’s Vision Pro has quickly gained real-world visibility through user-generated videos, prompting discussions about the disregard for safety warnings issued by Apple. Despite explicit instructions cautioning against using the device in situations requiring attention to safety, individuals have been documented wearing the headset in scenarios where distractions could pose serious risks.

Renowned YouTuber Casey Neistat contributed to the discussion by filming a video of himself using the Apple Vision Pro on a trip around New York City, emphasizing the real-world impact of the headset’s misuse. Another video surfaced featuring a Tesla driver navigating traffic while wearing the headset.

Even though the device has not been officially released in the UK, a video from London showcases someone using the Apple Vision Pro, adding to the growing concern about the widespread misuse of the product.

Apple has addressed safety concerns by providing a dedicated page on its website titled “Important safety information for Apple Vision Pro.” The page outlines potential dangers, including medical conditions and discomfort, with a specific emphasis on the headset’s usage in various surroundings. The instructions explicitly state, “Never use Apple Vision Pro while operating a moving vehicle, bicycle, heavy machinery, or in any other situations requiring attention to safety.”

The company warns against using the device in low-light conditions, emphasizing the increased risk of collision with objects in the user’s environment.

As discussions around the viral videos gain momentum, questions arise about the responsibility of users in adhering to safety guidelines and the potential consequences of disregarding them.
