2024: The Year of Wearables for Apple? Apple Watch Series 10 Poised for a Transformative Upgrade

In a significant development anticipated for 2024, Apple is gearing up to revolutionize its iconic Apple Watch Series 10 with not only a fresh design but also groundbreaking health features. According to tech analyst Mark Gurman, Apple is poised to celebrate the 10th anniversary of its smartwatch with a much-needed upgrade, including design changes that have been long-awaited by users.

The Apple Watch Series 9, which was met with a lukewarm response due to a lack of standout features, seems to have prompted Apple to rethink its strategy for the upcoming iteration. Gurman suggests that the tech giant is planning “at least one model” of the Apple Watch Series 10 with a revamped design, offering a breath of fresh air to a device that has maintained the same look since its inception.

In addition to the design overhaul, Gurman reveals that Apple has ambitious plans to introduce cutting-edge health features to the Apple Watch Series 10. These include the detection of hypertension and sleep apnea, marking a significant step forward in the device’s health monitoring capabilities. When such conditions are detected, the Apple Watch will prompt users to undergo further tests for confirmation.

Gurman emphasizes that for these health features to make a substantial impact, they need to possess “real marketing power.” This indicates that Apple is likely to introduce features that not only cater to health enthusiasts but also resonate with a broader audience, contributing to the smartwatch’s position as a leading health wearable.

Earlier speculations have hinted at the possibility of an Apple Watch X, and Gurman’s recent insights align with this expectation. If the dots are connected, Apple may unveil the Apple Watch X alongside the Apple Watch Series 10, presenting users with an array of choices that include new designs and advanced health monitoring capabilities.

As users await this transformative upgrade, 2024 could indeed mark the year of wearables for Apple, especially with the anticipated launch of the much-awaited Vision Pro early in the year.
