Tripathi and Sawant Shine: Victorious Triumphs at MSLTA Intensity Tennis Academy U12 Championship

Pune, India: In a thrilling display of skill and determination, Laqshya Tripathi from Bengaluru and Janhavi Sawant from Pune emerged victorious in the boys and girls singles events, respectively, at the MSLTA Intensity Tennis Academy All India Ranking Championship Series U12 Tennis Tournament. The tournament, organized by Intensity Tennis Academy in collaboration with Shaping Champions Foundation Pune, unfolded at the Intensity Tennis Academy Courts, Kapila Resorts, Kharadi.

In a riveting boys singles final, seventh-seeded Laqshya Tripathi from Bengaluru overcame the challenge from third-seeded Yashvantraje Pawar of Solapur with a 6-3, 1-6, 6-3 victory, claiming the U12 title. Laqshya, a fifth standard student, practices at Chris Marquis Tennis Academy under the guidance of coach Chris Marquis, with support from his father Ashish Tripathi and Mohit Mayur Jayaprakash.

In the girls singles event, sixth standard student Janhavi Sawant of Paranjape Vidya Mandir, Pune, secured an impressive win by upsetting top-seeded Vaidehi Shukla from Madhya Pradesh with a score of 6-4, 6-2. Janhavi, who practices at Solaris Club under coach Ravindra Pandey, displayed remarkable skill and composure on the court.

The doubles finals witnessed intense competition, with the top-seeded pairs emerging victorious. In the boys doubles event, Yashvantraje Pawar and Kabir Gundecha defeated third-seeded Advait Gund and Arnav Pande with a score of 6-3, 6-3. Meanwhile, in the girls doubles final, top-seeded pair Nakshatra Iyer and Vaidehi Shukla secured a 6-3, 6-2 win over third-seeded Janhavi Sawant and Asmi Pitre.

The winners and runners-up were honored with trophies and certificates at the awards ceremony. Mr. Pranay Dhole Patil, Owner of Kapila Resorts, presented the prizes, with Tournament Director Mr. Atul Deodhare, Mr. Kapil Kinnari, Sarika Gadade of Shaping Champions Foundation Pune, and Supervisor Tejal Kulkarni in attendance.

  • Boys: Laqshya Tripathi (7) bt Yashvantraje Pawar(3) 6-3, 1-6, 6-3;
  • Girls: Janhavi Sawant(5) bt Vaidehi Shukla(1) 6-4, 6-2;
  • Doubles – Girls: Nakshatra Iyer/Vaidehi Shukla(1) bt Janhavi Sawant/Asmi Pitre(3) 6-3, 6-2;
  • Doubles – Boys: Yashvantraje Pawar/Kabir Gundecha(1) bt Advait Gund/Arnav Pande (3) 6-3, 6-3.
