Tiger Woods Unveils New “Sun Day Red” Apparel After Parting Ways With Nike

Golf icon Tiger Woods has embarked on a new chapter in his illustrious career, revealing an exclusive partnership with TaylorMade Golf to launch a lifestyle brand named “Sun Day Red.” This announcement comes on the heels of the conclusion of Woods’ 27-year collaboration with Nike, marking a significant shift in his professional endorsements.

Woods, who turned professional in 1996, has been synonymous with Nike throughout his career. However, with Nike exiting the golf equipment business in 2016, Woods gradually transitioned to TaylorMade for clubs and Bridgestone for golf balls. Now, the golf legend is taking his association with TaylorMade to the next level by embracing a complete apparel and footwear line under the banner of “Sun Day Red.”

The brand’s logo features a tiger stretched across the three words, symbolizing Woods’ remarkable 15 major championships. In a statement, Woods expressed his excitement, saying, “I’m ready to share those secrets with the world,” hinting at the innovative features incorporated into the apparel and footwear.

The “Sun Day Red” line is set to launch its men’s apparel collection online in the United States and Canada on May 1, strategically positioned between the Masters and the PGA Championship. TaylorMade Golf aims to expand its reach to key markets and eventually introduce footwear, women’s, and kids’ lines.

This venture is more than just a clothing line; “Sun Day Red” stands as an independent brand with its own team of designers, staff, and headquarters. To lead this new venture, Brad Blankinship, formerly associated with renowned lines like Quiksilver and RVCA, has been appointed as the president of Sun Day Red.

The timing of the announcement, just days before Woods’ 2024 debut at the Genesis Invitational at Riviera, adds to the anticipation surrounding this new chapter in the golf legend’s career. The Genesis Invitational, a tournament where Woods serves as the host, carries a substantial $20 million purse, making it a pivotal event for players on the PGA Tour.

As Woods gears up for his first tournament of the year, the world awaits the unveiling of “Sun Day Red” and the innovations it promises to bring to the world of golf fashion.
