ICC Rankings: Jadeja Climbs to Third, Broad Retires on a High

In the latest ICC Test rankings for bowlers, India’s Ravindra Jadeja has made a significant jump, climbing to the third spot. The rankings also see some notable movements after the conclusion of various Test series around the world.

Stuart Broad, who recently announced his retirement from Test cricket with an impressive record of 604 wickets in 167 Test matches, has risen two places to secure the fourth position. Pat Cummins, the Australian pace spearhead, has slipped two spots and now holds the fifth position. Meanwhile, Pakistan’s Shaheen Afridi has moved three spots up to secure the sixth spot in the rankings after his remarkable performance against Sri Lanka, marking his return to Test cricket after a year.

In the batting department, Kane Williamson of New Zealand continues to top the chart. He is followed by England’s Joe Root, while Steve Smith and Babar Azam hold the third and fourth positions, respectively. Marnus Labuschagne has dropped to fifth place. Australia’s Travis Head also slipped two spots, now standing at sixth.

In terms of other notable changes, India’s pace sensation Jasprit Bumrah remains at the tenth position in the ICC Test rankings for bowlers. Pakistan’s Naseem Shah showcased an exceptional display of reverse swing in the second Test against Sri Lanka in Colombo, earning him a jump of seven spots to reach the 37th position. Another Pakistani bowler, Noman Ali, has made significant progress, improving 13 places to secure the 42nd position.

Turning to the ICC ODI rankings, there were not many changes except for India’s Kuldeep Yadav, who rose eight places to the 14th position among ODI bowlers. His impressive performance in the 3-match ODI series against West Indies contributed to this climb. Mohammed Siraj is the only other bowler from India who currently holds a spot in the top-ten of the ICC ODI rankings for bowlers, sitting at the fourth position.

In the batting department of ODI rankings, Ishan Kishan has shown remarkable progress, jumping 15 places to share the 45th position. Shubman Gill remains steady at the seventh spot. However, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma have experienced a slight drop, falling one place each to the ninth and eleventh positions, respectively.

The ICC rankings reflect the performances of players in various formats of the game and are constantly updated as players continue to display their skills on the cricket field. These rankings provide an interesting insight into the current form and prowess of cricketers around the world.
