In a thrilling finale at the Oxford Golf Resort, the AK Pune Lions emerged as the victors of the prestigious Oxford Golf League. The final match between AK Pune Lions and Roaring Tigers Nagpur kept spectators on the edge of their seats as both teams displayed exceptional skill and sportsmanship.
The Pune Lions showcased their prowess on the golf course, securing 10.5 points against the 9.5 points earned by Roaring Tigers Nagpur. This hard-fought victory secured their place in the esteemed Oxford Golf Cup, marking a significant milestone in the team’s journey.
Led by Captain Rajeev Pusalkar and vice-captain Andrew Pinto, the AK Pune Lions showcased their strength as a cohesive unit. The team comprised talented players such as Ronnak Jain, Sriram Subrahmanyam, Vinay Aggarwal, Sachin Ranbhise, Dinesh Sood, Ramesh Kaushik, Satish Singh, Raj Dutta, Balraj Singh Parmar, Subhramaniam MK, Mikyung Jeong, and Sujit Kakkad, who contributed to their success.
The moment of triumph was made even more special when Anil Sevlekar from Oxford Golf Club and Aaditya Malpani from S.Golfing presented the team with the prestigious trophy during a grand ceremony. Along with the trophy, the AK Pune Lions were awarded a cash prize of four lakhs, recognizing their exceptional performance throughout the league. Ronak Jain, a player from the Pune Lions, was honored as the league’s best player for his outstanding contributions.
The Roaring Tigers Nagpur team put up a commendable fight and secured the runner-up position, earning recognition for their skill and determination.
The Oxford Golf League attracted eight teams from different parts of the country, including Eagle Forces, Shubban Sunrises, AS.J. Sultans of Swing, Roaring Tigers Nagpur, AK Pune Lions, The Legacy Club, Wing Warriors, and Green Gladiators. Each team consisted of fifteen players, bringing together a total of 120 renowned players from across the nation.
The league took place at the picturesque and well-equipped Oxford Golf Club, which added to the significance of the event. It provided a platform for golf enthusiasts and players to showcase their talent, foster camaraderie, and promote the sport within the golfing community.
