In a spectacular and historic launch, the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) Season 10 commenced with a flourish on the Akshar River Cruise in Ahmedabad. The special inauguration ceremony was led by Mashal Sports’ Head Sports Leagues and Pro Kabaddi League Commissioner, Mr. Anupam Goswami. The event saw the participation of PKL Season 9-winning team Captain Sunil Kumar (Jaipur Pink Panthers), and the opening game Captains Pawan Sehrawat (Telugu Titans) and Fazel Atrachali (Gujarat Giants).
During a press conference aboard the cruise, Mr. Anupam Goswami highlighted the significance of returning to the 12-city caravan format for Season 10. He expressed enthusiasm about reactivating nine geographies that haven’t seen PKL in their region since 2019, fostering a strong connection with communities in each franchise’s home region.
The opening game on Saturday will witness a clash between Gujarat Giants and Telugu Titans at the EKA Arena by TransStadia. Pawan Sehrawat, the Titans’ Captain, expressed excitement about returning to the mat, stating his team’s readiness for the upcoming season. Fazel Atrachali, the most expensive defender in PKL and Captain of Gujarat Giants, shared his eagerness to participate, emphasizing the high level of talent and preparation within the team.
As the defending champions, Jaipur Pink Panthers’ Captain Sunil Kumar asserted their determination to retain the trophy. He discussed the team’s meticulous preparation and strategy, aiming for a successful title defense.
The Ahmedabad leg of PKL Season 10 is scheduled from December 2nd to December 7th, 2023, with subsequent venues including Bengaluru, Pune, Chennai, Noida, Mumbai, Jaipur, Hyderabad, Patna, Delhi, Kolkata, and Panchkula.
The entire season of Pro Kabaddi League Season 10 will be broadcast live on the Star Sports Network and streamed for free on Disney+ Hotstar.
