Indian Football Team Announces 22-Member Squad for Asian Games
The Indian football team is gearing up to participate in the prestigious Asian Games scheduled to start in Hangzhou from September 19. In an exciting development, the All India Football Federation (AIFF) has unveiled the squad for the upcoming continental tournament on Tuesday (August 1). The 22-member squad is all set to represent India in the highly-anticipated Asian Games.
Placed in Group A alongside hosts China, Bangladesh, and Myanmar, this will be the Indian men’s football team’s first appearance in the Asian Games after a gap of nine years. Under the guidance of coach Igor Stimac, the Blue Tigers have selected a formidable and talented squad for the competition.
Leading the Indian team will be the iconic Sunil Chhetri, who brings his wealth of experience and leadership skills to the forefront. Joining him will be seasoned players like Gurpreet Singh Sandhu and Sandesh Jhingan, known for their exceptional performances on the field.
