Dream11 Takes Over as Principal Jersey Sponsor of Indian Cricket Team, Replacing Byju’s

In an exciting development, it has been reported that fantasy gaming platform Dream11 will be the new principal jersey sponsor of the Indian cricket team, taking over from Byju’s. This sponsorship deal is set to be in place from July 2023 to March 2026, marking a significant change in the team’s branding.

According to reports, Dream11 secured the deal with a base price of Rs 358 crore. This move comes after Byju’s took over as the team’s jersey sponsor in 2019, replacing Oppo. Oppo had been a sponsor for two and a half years before wanting to pass on the remaining part of its sponsorship term.

Previously, Byju’s had extended its sponsorship deal with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) until the end of 2023 for $55 million. However, the company decided to step down after the completion of the last financial cycle.

In search of a new sponsor, the BCCI invited closed bids, and Dream11 emerged as one of the major contenders. With this successful bid, Dream11 will now assume the role of principal jersey sponsor for the Indian men’s cricket team.

This transition in sponsorship comes after a period during which the team did not have an official jersey sponsor following Byju’s departure. The new partnership with Dream11 is expected to bring renewed energy and branding opportunities for the Indian cricket team.

Dream11, known for its popular fantasy sports platform, has made significant strides in the sports sponsorship arena. The company’s association with the Indian cricket team is set to enhance its brand visibility and strengthen its connection with millions of cricket enthusiasts across the country.

The change in jersey sponsorship is a significant development in the world of Indian cricket. As the team prepares for upcoming tournaments and matches, the new partnership with Dream11 will provide a fresh outlook and contribute to the team’s identity.
