Cristiano Ronaldo’s Scoring Spree Continues: Al Nassr Triumphs Over Al Taawoun

In a dazzling display of skill and determination, Cristiano Ronaldo added another goal to his impressive tally, scoring his 54th goal of the year as Al Nassr secured a convincing 4-1 victory over Al Taawoun in the Saudi Pro League on Saturday, December 30.

The home side took an early lead in the 13th minute, courtesy of Aschraf El Mahdioui. However, Al Nassr quickly turned the tables, with Marcelo Brozovic finishing off a swift passing move to equalize. The momentum continued for the visitors as former Manchester City defender Aymeric Laporte headed them in front from a corner in the 35th minute.

Al Taawoun’s attempts to play out from their six-yard box backfired spectacularly five minutes into the second half. A misguided pass gifted the ball to Otavio, who capitalized on the opportunity to extend Al Nassr’s lead to 3-1.

Cristiano Ronaldo, ever the goal-scoring maestro, had to bide his time until the second minute of stoppage time to seal the victory with a header. This marked Ronaldo’s 20th goal in just 18 league games this season, showcasing his continued prowess on the field.

The match also commemorated the anniversary of Ronaldo’s signing a two-and-a-half-year contract with Al Nassr following the conclusion of his second spell with Manchester United.

The win ensured that Al Nassr closed the gap to within seven points of league leaders Al Hilal, who secured a 2-0 victory at Al Fayha the previous day.
