In a recent observation on December 28th, Spaceweather observers documented a captivating event—a small plasma twister forming in the northern hemisphere, rapidly breaking apart. Despite its seemingly minor appearance, the event triggered extensive magnetic restructuring as it exited, resulting in an unexpectedly large Coronal Mass Ejection (CME) cloud, three times wider than Earth.
While the CME eruption significantly disrupted the Sun’s area, models assure that the ejected material poses no impact threat to Earth’s geomagnetic field.
